Episode 3 | Defensive Driving

Has this ever happened to you? You're about to drive through an intersection, and a driver who should've stopped to let you through didn't. Or maybe you've seen a driver switch lanes without signaling, causing an accident.

You're smarter than that! When you're aware of what others around you are doing, you can react in time to errors they might make. Planning for all scenarios on the road will help you save time, repair costs, and most importantly, your life.

Episode 2 | Distracted Driving

On the road, distracted drivers are all around us, talking on the phone, eating, texting, or engaging in other activities while driving.

Don't be that driver. Distracted driving can lead to all types of collisions, from small to large, and puts other drivers on the road in danger.

Whether you're on the highway, or driving through a small town, it's important to stay focused and alert. If you have to speak on the phone, ensure you are set up to utilize a hands-free system. You could help prevent the next distracted driving accident.

Episode 1 | Tailgating

We've all seen them. You're on your way to a customer's site and another car is driving aggressively, following too closely to other vehicles.

Don't be that driver. Driving safely requires skill, patience, and constant assessment and decision-making, often defensively based on someone else's poor driving behavior.

Leave proper following distance to prevent harm to yourself and others, and help ensure you get to your customers and back home safely.

CTE DRIVERS TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

Phil Greene | Construction Division

"I work in GCI Equipment Sales as the equipment demonstration operator & trainer, working under Mark Kincer. I've been driving for CTE for a little over 6 years.

I try to always be aware of my surroundings and leave early enough to where I am not having to rush to get to the job sites and my appointment time. Everyone wants to make it back home to their families. Safety first - for yourself, other motorists, and for CTE."

Marv Campbell | Service Technician

"I've been working as a service technician for LiftOne for 5 years and have a few tips when it comes to road safety.

So many times when I'm on my way to work, I see people texting while driving, sometimes even using their knee to steer so they can text. I also see people speeding and tailgating. Doing these things won't get you to where you're going any quicker, and no job is that important.

Please do not do these things - for others' safety and for your own. remember, always be aware of your surroundings."

Chelsea Parker | Construction Division

"I work as an outside equipment sales representative for Carolina Cat, and I've been in my truck for about a year now.

My best advice for driving safe is to remember that a lot of things are beyond your control on the road. You can't make someone drive faster or slower or move their car if they've been in a fender bender. What you can control is paying attention to the road and your surroundings, your speed, and keeping yourself and your fellow drivers safe."
