Episode 4 | Scanning Ahead

There goes another driver not paying attention. You're driving through a store parking lot, and as a car is backing out of their spot, the driver in front of you didn't notice and rear-ended them.

You're smarter than that! Avoid keeping your vision fixed in one spot by scanning ahead and around you, using your mirrors and your peripheral vision. This way, you'll always be ready to react as needed so you can get to your destination safely.

CTE DRIVERS TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY

Phillip Storey | LiftOne Division

"I've been a road service technician for the LiftOne Albany branch for 9 1/2 years. My advice is that you should always allow yourself plenty of time to commute back and forth to your job sites. Stay focused when behind the wheel. Know your surroundings, what's beside you and behind you. Keep your mirrors properly adjusted.

Also keep your vehicle properly services and in road-worthy condition. Limit phone calls (hands-free, of course) to 2 minutes. Anymore than that and you need to pull over to a safe parking sace. Remember, your family and liftOne need you to return home in the same condition you left in. Stay focused!
